I am a modern-day medicine woman with a deep belief in the curative power of nature and a passion for traditional healing practices and folk medicine. Specializing in women’s health (with an emphasis on the childbearing years), my mission is to facilitate truly holistic healing for my clients – mind, body, and spirit.
I am a Western clinical herbalist with ten years’ training and experience, as well as a board-certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, well-versed in functional nutrition. In addition, I am a certified Usui/Holy Fire II Reiki practitioner, Vaginal Steam Facilitator, Cupping Therapist, Full-Spectrum Doula, and Childbirth Educator.
I began my formal study of herbal medicine in 2010 with wise woman herbalist Susun Weed. In addition to many years of rigorous self-study, I attended Demetria Clark’s Heart of Herbs Herbal School and the Clinical Herbalist Training Program at Vital Ways (formerly The School of Traditional Western Herbalism), in addition to classes at Arctos School of Botanical and Herbal Studies, The School of Forest Medicine, and the Matthew Wood Institute of Herbalism.
In 2012-2013 and again in 2017, I trained as a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Childbirth Educator with Childbirth International, finding inspiration in the work of Ina May Gaskin, Robin Lim, and Dr. Michael Odent, among others. I studied traditional birth practices from around the world with Mamma Primitiva in 2012. In 2017, I attended the “Pregnancy: Massage & Acupressure for Birth” training with Leslie Stager, RN, LMT at the Oregon School of Massage and Usui / Holy Fire II Reiki Levels I & II training with ICRT Senior Reiki Master Teacher Colleen Benelli. From 2017-2018, I trained as a Birth & Bereavement Doula and an Adoption Doula with StillBirthday. Also in 2018, I became certified as a Vaginal Steam Facilitator by the Peristeam Hydrotherapy Institute.
I received my training as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and was board certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner in 2013 by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. During my time at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
In 2015-2016 I received training in functional nutrition from Andrea Nakayama’s Holistic Nutrition Lab, Jordan Reasoner and Steve Wright of SCD Lifestyle, Chris Kresser, MS, LAc, and clinical nutritionist and functional medicine specialist Josh Gitalis. I received training in stone medicine with Sarah Thomas, LAc in 2017 – 2018 and became a certified cupping therapist with the International Cupping Therapy Association in 2018.
